Darcy Chenoweth, DNP, PMHNP

I am licensed in Montana as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychotherapy and medication management. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Montana State University, Bozeman. My practice is shaped by decades of experience as a first responder, nurse, educator, and artist. Recently, I have collaborated with world-leading mental health experts to develop best practices for helping first responders and others in helping professions (e.g., medical professionals, social workers, lawyers) reduce burnout and the effects of trauma exposure.

I offer both in-person and telehealth services to improve access in rural communities and provide more flexibility with schedules. I combine psychotherapy, medication, and referrals to other community resources, including complementary methods. My consultation services focus on building organizational support systems to enhance mental health for first responders, developing shared language, and increasing awareness of psychological stress injuries.

I serve as a board member for Mountain Muskox, an Alberta-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting those affected by loss and trauma in the mountains. I also speak at risk management conferences on resilience, facilitate peer support, and lead trauma groups. I hold several professional memberships and frequently attend trauma conferences and seminars to stay current on the latest trauma approaches.

Community: Humans are relational beings; we rely on each other to navigate a complex world, including our mental health. I am on your team and collaborate with you, other therapists, physicians, coaches, or spiritual advisors. You don’t have to do it alone.

Transitions: Life changes, whether personal or professional, physical or mental, can be disorienting and are an inherent part of being human. It’s common to feel unmoored and overwhelmed by uncertainty. Together, we can find stability within a shifting reality.

Agency: Feeling stuck or hopeless can seem like losing control. Agency is the ability to make choices that align with your values. Together, we will work to build agency and a sense of clarity.

Trust: We all experience things that promote either expansion (greater capacity) or contraction (fear or detachment). These experiences affect our ability to trust ourselves, others, the natural world, or our spirituality. My work focuses on building trust and capacity, essential components of long-term resilience.
